The Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council (CMPAC) has formally submitted its Senate brief on Bill C-9 to the Senate of Canada.

The submission outlines CMPAC’s legal and constitutional concerns regarding the legislation’s potential impact on Charter-protected freedoms, including freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and peaceful protest.

The brief also advances specific amendments aimed at strengthening legal safeguards, preventing overbroad application, and protecting lawful religious and political expression.
