CMPAC’s 2025 pre-budget submission outlines evidence-based recommendations to strengthen equity, inclusion, and public safety for Muslim and Palestinian communities in Canada. The submission calls for targeted measures to combat Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism, expand security supports for mosques and community institutions, and build cyber-resilience against online hate. It also urges reforms to the CRA’s charity oversight practices, the dismantling of discriminatory counter-extremism frameworks, and stronger accountability mechanisms for the CBSA. CMPAC highlights the urgent need to strengthen immigration pathways, including reforms to the Gaza TRV program, and calls for predictable, multi-year humanitarian support for Gaza. Together, these proposals ensure rights-based, transparent governance that enhances public trust and inclusion.
