Senate Committee Testimony on Structural Islamophobia

CMPAC presented before the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights’ hearings on the prevalence of Islamophobia in Canada. Our testimony drew attention to the professionalized Islamophobia networks at play in bolstering systemic and institutional Islamophobia, including their role in influencing public discourse on how Muslims ought to be treated.

Our testimony points the Senate Standing Committee in the direction of addressing the biased, suspicion-laden frameworks that influence security and anti-terrorism policies, and lead to the community’s social and financial exclusion.
